Checklist for setting up, as we can all sometimes forget the essentials:

🏕️ Arrival & Positioning

  1. Check in at reception and get your pitch number.
  2. Park and level the motorhome using levelling ramps if needed.
  3. Engage handbrake and switch off the engine.

Hookups & Utilities

  1. Connect electric hookup (EHU) to the site’s power post — plug into the van first, then the post.
  2. Fill fresh water tank (use your own hose if possible).
  3. Set up waste disposal — place the waste water container or ensure grey water outlet is positioned correctly.
  4. Check gas supply — open the gas bottle valve and test appliances.

🧺 Inside Setup

  1. Turn on fridge (switch to mains or gas depending on hookup).
  2. Switch on heating/hot water if needed.
  3. Open roof vents and windows for ventilation.
  4. Set up bedding, dining area, and storage.

☀️ Outside Setup

  1. Roll out the awning and secure with storm straps.
  2. Set up outdoor furniture — chairs, table, mat, etc.
  3. Position waste bins and tidy cables/hoses.

📋 Final Checks

  1. Check fire/safety gear (extinguisher, detector, first aid).
  2. Note site facilities (toilets, showers, waste points).
  3. Relax and enjoy your stay!
