Story

The WildAx Pulsar is a compact British-built campervan-style motorhome designed to be a true car replacement – small and easy to drive like a van, but with fully functioning living space including a kitchen, washroom and sleeping area. Built on a Fiat base with winterised insulation and a clever layout, the Pulsar packs much of what you’d expect from a larger motorhome into a van under 5.4 m long.

Unlike simple van conversions, the Pulsar comes as a complete motorhome: 4 belted travel seats, flexible seating that turns into a double or twin beds, a full kitchen with oven and fridge/freezer, and a separate washroom with shower and toilet — all inside a compact, nimble vehicle.

👍 Pros

✔️ True Motorhome Functionality:
Despite its size, it includes a full kitchen, full washroom/shower, plenty of storage, and a good-sized sleeping area – something many campervans of this size don’t offer.

✔️ Flexible Bed & Seating Layout:
The rear seating area slides together to form a large double bed (188 cm long) or can convert into two single beds, or into relaxed sofa seating — great flexibility for couples or guests.

✔️ Winter-Ready & Year-Round Use:
The Pulsar’s water tanks and habitation area are winterised as standard (BS EN1645-1 Grade 3 insulation), meaning it’s built for use even in colder weather.

👎 Cons

Compact Space Means Trade-Offs:
While cleverly designed, the interior is tight compared with larger coachbuilt motorhomes. Movement around the kitchen and washroom can feel snug at times.

Higher Cost Than Basic Vans:
The Pulsar’s specification (full kitchen, washroom, insulation etc.) means it’s pricier than a simple panel-van conversion — but that is the trade-off for full motorhome capability.

Used Market Condition Varies:
Older Mk 1 examples can vary in condition, and features such as solar or lithium batteries that came later are often dealer-fitted extras — so check their age and warranty.
