First Motorhome In Film

Less of a motorhome than a trailer, the custard yellow vehicle created by Redman Trailer Company is the star of the show in the film ‘The Long, Long Trailer; so much so that it launched the brand into success as a major motorhome manufacturer! 

The 1953 film starred Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball on a honeymoon adventure in a 36-foot Redman’s New Moon caravan. This trailer was originally launched in 1947 as the world’s largest trailer making it a perfect fit!

The trailer featured a double bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen with ample prep space, and a cozy lounge, making it a memorable piece of motorhome history.
